Gary Daniels

Gary is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers, with over 25 years of experience as a fire engineering consultant. His career has focused on the built environment, where he has successfully delivered projects across diverse industry sectors, particularly in aviation and residential developments. 

Beyond consultancy, Gary has made significant contributions to national standards through his role on the British Standards Institute’s FSH/14 committee, influencing key documents such as BS 9991, BS 9792, and BS 7974-2. He has also authored and contributed to widely used industry guidance, including multiple editions of the Smoke Control Association’s guidance and sections of CIBSE Guide E. In addition to his technical work, Gary is an active committee member of the Institution of Fire Engineers Registrants Group, overseeing engineering registrations, and has previously served as a Board Trustee of the Institution of Fire Engineers.
